Meet Tanya McDonough, the Managing Director at Gold Buyers Online. Tanya is the proud sponsor of the SunnyKids Luncheon for Melbourne Cup.
Tell us about your organisation, what do you offer the community and what’s your point of difference?
We purchase old, unwanted and broken jewellery. We are located at Sunshine Plaza and Kawana shopping world as well as having our national based online Mail In system. The Mail In service is the first of its kind in Australia to revolutionise online Gold Buying with a simple, secure and free service to anywhere within Australia.
What inspired you to support the SunnyKids Melbourne Cup Luncheon?
We are proud supporters of SunnyKids and have been involved in various fundraising activities for SunnyKids over the years. We thought that the Cup Luncheon would be a great function to support while gathering up a team of our staff and attending together for an enjoyable afternoon.
You’ve been a supporter of SunnyKids for some time, what is it that you like about supporting our cause?
We love that SunnyKids is directly helping families in our local community. The extent of work that SunnyKids does to help families in need on the Sunshine Coast is remarkable and we feel very lucky to be a part of what they do.
Have you always given back to your community, if so, in what ways?
Yes, prior to supporting SunnyKids, we supported a number of different charities and fund raisers. When based in Melbourne we supported a similar foundation called ‘TRY’ charity at the time. TRY offered mentors to under privileged children and provided housing to families in need.

Winner – Social Impact
SunnyKids acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we work, live and rest. We appreciate the importance of building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people to foster a culture of understanding and respect. By listening to their voices, understanding their needs and collaborating we promote healing, mutual understanding and progress towards reconciliation. SunnyKids continue our commitment to embrace diversity, equity and inclusion.
