Leisa Toomey, Sole Director and Family Law Accredited Specialist of Toomey Family Law, is one of our proud sponsors of this year’s Travis Schultz Winemakers Master Class backed by NAB Private Wealth for SunnyKids event.
Leisa has been a big supporter of SunnyKids for over 10 years and became an official sponsor of the Winemakers Master Class in 2020.
Toomey Family Law is a boutique family law practice that works with its clients to build holistic solutions for their future. Leisa has become the voice of authority in the field of family law, as an Accredited Family Law Specialist with the Queensland Law Society and a previous Partner and Practice Group Leader of Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers, she has spent over 20 years designing clear blueprints to solutions to complex family and high value property settlements.
Leisa’s expertise, along with her pragmatic empathy, has allowed her clients to keep their focus firmly on re-building their futures.
Giving back to the community in which she lives is very important to Leisa. “I feel very strongly about giving back to the community,” Leisa says. “With the pressure of living and financial stress on families, now more than ever, organisations like SunnyKids are a lifesaver. SunnyKids are an extremely valuable resource for the entire Sunshine Coast region.”
We rely heavily on the support of our sponsors to run our major events and it brings us so much joy getting to know the incredible people behind these organisations. With compassion and generosity at the very heart of those who support us, it’s truly wonderful being around such a fantastic group of socially conscious people.
With demand for our services continuing to increase year-on-year, garnering community support and raising money to meet this demand is critical to us. “The Sunshine Coast is a tight knit community and SunnyKids plays an important role in keeping members of our community safe and supported,” says Leisa.
This year’s Winemakers Master Class will be raising essential funds for our SunnyKids in Schools (SKIS) and Mentoring Through Support programs. These programs play a vital role in helping children who are facing adversity have access to life-changing support services. Our programs in schools have a tremendous impact on the lives of the children we work with as well as their families. Providing wrap-around support to meet the needs of all areas of concern in the child’s life.
Operating for almost 25 years, SunnyKids has had a profound effect on the lives of thousands of children and their families on the Sunshine Coast. Providing vital life-saving support to women and children impacted by domestic and family violence and working within schools and early education settings to help children impacted by trauma and adversity.
“As a supporter of SunnyKids a highlight for me is hearing first-hand accounts from Sunshine Coast locals who have benefited from the support of SunnyKids,” Leisa says. “I have seen first-hand the inspiring work that SunnyKids does on the Coast on a daily basis. It is an easy decision to support an organisation like SunnyKids when you can clearly see that they provide an invaluable service to a vulnerable part of our community.”
We’re extremely grateful for the support of Leisa and the team at Toomey Family Law, this generosity and compassion allows us to continue the vital work we are delivering within our community. We continue to be overwhelmed by the level of support from our sponsors, thank you for investing in our cause.
